Newcomer Horse over 15 Hands - Highlights
Following the morning's preliminary judging for approximately 50
New season's horses, these final 10 came through for the afternoon final round. The
top ten horses were presented beautifully and belied their lack of experience. I was
delighted to see the judges rewarding the soft going horse with correct basics. All
the riders are to be commended for a job very well done.
Newcomer horse Kushla was quite
distracted and gave his rider a few problems - and lived up to his stable name of
"Blooper"
Kushla was very nice when he
allowed his rider Jack, to influence his frame and rhythm.
Stage Idol and Rebecca Farrow -
Stage Idol showed his inexperience by lugging somewhat, but I am sure his experienced and
talented rider will sort this our in his early training.
Di Barnes aboard JHB Marlborough
- Di demonstrated her experience and ringcraft as she asked this attractive horse to
move out and show his scopey paces.
As
a racehorse he was trained by veteran trainer Jim Houlahan who put him over the hurdles.
He is owned by B & A Johnstone.
Pranc- owned by Chad
Cunliffe and ridden by Michael Christie.
He is obviously young and needs to get a little stronger.
I understand that
Chad Cunliffe lives in the UK ... and hope that he enjoys these pictures of his lovely
Newcomer Horse.
Sanlirra Ambassador
and Shelley Penny - Shelley won the Champion Senior Rider at this competition, and is sure
to take this horse to the top.
State Occassion
really looked the goods and worked very well for his owner rider Megan Bullet.
The top ten were all beautiful and so Megan would have
been pleased with this result.
Talka - so named
because of the 'funny talking habit' with his bottom lip - he was very non 'vocal' in his
work for Shae Hanger.
