February 15. 16 & 17 2002
Werribee Park Equestrian Centre -
Parade of Champions - Page 21
Stanton Park Rave Review was the
Champion Small Barastoc Pony of the Year.
He was beautifully ridden by Natalie Mirovich from Geelong.
Rhyl Matinee had a fantastic
Barastoc 2002 - winning the Champion Newcomer Large Pony and also the Barastoc Large Pony
of the Year awards.
He is just
three years old and owned and ridden by Marcia Beard.
Jacqui Librio on her
own Neenah's Serenade a galloway that she and her family bred.
Serenade was the Barastoc Galloway of the Year.
Luke Johnstone from
Ridley AgriProducts who make Barastoc Horse Feeds - Barastoc are the real Champions of
this show, for without them it would not happen.
Marianne Ford
another of the many Barastoc people here to ensure that the day went well.
Rosemary Loughnan
celebrated her birthday here at Barastoc Horse of the Year Show.
A beautiful pony
that deserved a place on my pages, but I did not get the number.
Helen Moreland from
Racing Victoria was present to present the garland and top ten medallions in the Newcomer
Hack ring.
It was great to see
the interest and involvement of Racing Victoria. Helen has made a big impact in her
relatively short time in the job - well done Helen.
A 'must' at big
occasions is a good announcer/MC.
There
is non better than Graeme Barker (son of the legendary Olympian Ern Barker) - for me he
really makes the event come alive.
My favourite
performance for the 2002 Barastoc Horse of the Year event was that of Jessica McMahon and
her lovely new horse Saturday Night.
They
won the Champion Newcomer Hack and this horse has truly outstanding movement - well done
Jessica.
