Horse 1st Qualifying Round
Rider/Owner Sex/YOB/Col/HH/Nat/Breed Marks Score Place
Linda Shore River Range Coverup 35.400 7.080 8
River Range Warmbloods G/0/ Brn/16.2/ AUS/WB

Linda Shore from the top end of Queensland has two horses in the YH classes, both by her stallion Northern Classic and they serve to illustrate the consistency in type and quality that he is producing at Linda's River Range Stud.

Coverup is a very nice type and shows the benefit of good basic training.

Lia Notaras Broadway Award 34.800 6.960 9
Denise & Keith Smith G/0/ Brn/16.1/ AUS/WBXTB

Broadway Award is by Anamour from the mare Solitary Belle (also the dam of Di Jenkyn's Broadway Jitterbug) This promising gelding looks to have been taken slowly and should be ready to take the next step in the near future. Good luck Lia.

Carolyn Henley Gracefield Rozspon 34.600 6.920 10
Janice Breese M/1/ Bay/15.3/ AUS/WB

Gracefield Rozpon is by (the already mentioned) Rubenstein stallion Rotspon, who has sired a number of lovely young horses doing well in Australia. I am sure that this has created much of the interest in Regardez Moi youngsters as this stallion is also by Rubenstein (you can buy one on the 28th May)

Rozpon was very well ridden by Caolyn Henley for his owner Jill Harris. A special acknowledgement should go to his breeder Janice Breese from Gracefield Stud in NSW. She has produced a number of first class horses, but she is not a 'big name' and seems to be a 'quiet achiever' Well done Janice.

Joanne Peat Chantoozie 32.200 6.440 11
Joanne Connell M/0/ Bay/16.2/ AUS/WB

by Carbine from a Contact line mare. Chantoozie was perhaps a victim of her nice easy way of going and did nothing to make her performance memorable. She would be welcome in my stable and I am sure we will see more of her as her education progresses.

Amanda Shoobridge Revelwood Mon Star 32.200 6.440 11
Revelwood Warmblood Stud M/0/ Bay/16.1/ AUS/WB

Revelwood Mon Star is by the well respected Gymnastic Star from Lanefield Beatrice (Monopol) and her owner Amanda Schoobridge says she has the best temperament and is so easy to train. Sometimes this 'laid back' sort of horse comes into their area of expertise when the work gets harder, Amanda thinks he best is yet to come and I somehow think that a person of her experience would be right. Amanda and her husband David worked tirelessly to help make the Sydney CDI a success. They have a huge stallion line up at the stud and other horse related interests,

Anna O.Keppel DFS Nina Colada 30.200 6.040 13
Anna O.Keppel M/0/ Ch/16/ AUS/WB

DFS Nina Colada a nice type by the super stallion Weltmeyer, she is from a Winterkoenig mare and this breeding suggests that she still has some developing to do. She was bred and is owned and ridden by Anna O Keppel, so it would be a great thrill to be on board a horse that you picked up the frozen semen to breed. All horse breeders can relate to the long term and completely unknown nature of producing horses and Anna has produced a very nice mare with a good future under saddle or at home breeding more. Good luck.

Danielle Campbell HP Lothar 29.300 5.860 14
G. Quast S/0/ Gry/17/ AUS/HOLST

HP Lothar and Danielle Campbell have come down to the CDI all the way from Queensland - great to see such interest in this event. This how carries the renowned Lander/Monopol cross which has been proven to make excellent performance horses. He will be taking part in the current Queensland season where it is beautiful one day and perfect the next!

Zanna Northam Copper Sunset 29.000 5.800 15
J & R Rolfe & L. Steer G/0/ Ch/16.1/ AUS/WB

Copper Sunset was a favourite for me as he bears a striking resemblance to my Arabian Wamblood gelding Hollybrook Boston - who, like Sunset is by the imported Trakehner stallion Kaliber. Copper Sunset is a beautiful fellow and I felt that his marks could have been higher. Better luck in the future Zanna.

Tracie-Ann Maher Coldstream Valentine 28.500 5.700 16
Wendy Ansell G/0/ Blk/16.1/ AUS/HANN

Bred by Wendy Ansell from Coldstream Park in Victoria this attractive black is by Coldstream Vienna. I am sure that his owner/rider Tracie-Ann Maher will look to the expert comments and take these on board when preparing for her next young horse competition. Her horse is good enough so she must focus on showing his best. Good luck.
