PSI De Caprio (De Niro) looked great, he came into the final round in second place, and a win was within reach. He is known to be unsettled in an indoor environment and he got more and more on edge as the time grew closer for the changeover of riders to occur. He was so fractious as to make it impossible for Mary to get on and assess him. He was withdrawn from the competition to eliminate any risks to people or the horse. This was very brave of Judy and his owner Andrea Beatty and showed great sportsmanship to put safety and horse-welfare before glory. We wish them every success in the future. |
