Sydney CDI 2006 - Results & Pictorial Reports

2006 Sydney CDI
SIEC

Thursday, 3rd May 2006 – The Trot Up

As can be expected at events conducted at the SIEC, everything ran like clockwork. The grounds are looking immaculate, the weather promises to be glorious and everyone anticipates a fantastic 2006 CDI.

Event Director, Toni Venhaus (above) is pleased with the preparations and confident that it will be the best Sydney CDI yet.

Judges include Alison King (NZL), Joy Charlton (Aust) and Cara Whitham (Can) and Midori Furukawa (JPN)

The trot up for approximately 70 horses taking part in the FEI classes at this event took place at 3pm on the firm surface of the roadway behind the main stable block. As is the case at many trot up presentations, some participants took on board the notion that "you cannot be over dressed" at this all-important occasion.

Sally Evans was a picture of elegance in her burgundy/maroon number who presented her lovely Aachimedes stallion, A’Seduction (pictured below).

All of the horses except one passed the vet inspection and Victorian horse, APH Rodrigo was asked to represent before the competition tomorrow. The vets felt that he did not step out enough and they just wanted to be sure that he would be fit for his classes.

By the time the trot up took place, it was clear to all that Qld combination Ricky MacMillan and Crisp nor Victorian Mary Hanna on Port Said and Tango V would not be competing. Of course this is a great shame as the crowd enjoys seeing our Olympic representatives.

The backbone of the event are the hard-working volunteers, photo above shows Cathie Drury Klein and Trevor Klein.

All eyes will be on Rachel Sanna and Chatham Park Jac as their score in the GP will decide his WEG fate.
