The day started with the foal registrations
and first up was Remi Eagle Rock, a 3 month old black colt by Earl (Ger).from
Remi Daylight Saving (Daktylus/Rose O'Capri by King Capri xx) Owned by
Cheryl O'Brien.
Hans' comments: "this foal had a good walk
but a better trot and canter. He has a well developed neck - not too long
and not too short and is nicely built uphill. . I like the dam very much."
Next up was Jaybee Lady Sinclair, a 3 month
old bay filly by Lord Sinclair (Ger)from Gloria (imp) (Glorieux (Ger)/St Pr.
Grosse Liebe by Grundstein)- In foal to Lord Sinclair Owned by John & Bev
Edwards.
Hans' comments: "I very much like the 'G'
line. Lord Sinclair (Holst) is a good influence on the Hanoverian breed.
This is a very pretty foal with a nice head, long legs and well developed
neck. She is a tall foal who had a high tail in the beginning and therefore
not loose in the back but over the workout she relaxed and got better and
showed three very good gaits."
No. 3 was a 5 week old chestnut filly by
Lanthan (Ger) from Surabaya xx (Mighty Kingdom xx/In The Cup xx) Owned by
Cheryl O'Brien.
Hans' comments: "this sort of foal is very
easy to sell in Germany with the four white socks and small blaze. The filly
will develop a good neck, good topline and has a big shoulder. She has a
very good saddle position and is very pretty. Excellent walk, trot is ok and
it is difficult to judge the canter as she wishes to trot everywhere."
Surabaya is an aged TB and dam of Remi Waltzing Matilda, one of Cheryl's
most successful damlines.
Unfortunately not all the foals were amenable
to our requests of walk, trot and canter - as you can imagine it was a very
big day for the babies and the team at Remi Stud did a wonderful job of
trying to both keep the mares moving straight as well as getting the foals
to show off their best paces - never an easy task!
No. 4 was Remi Wildflower, a 5 week old
chestnut filly by Wolkentanz (Ger)from UQ Amour Lily (Anamour (imp)/UQ
Whispering Lily). Mare owned by Misty Bienke, foal owned by Cheryl O'Brien.
Hans' comments: "This filly is only 5 weeks
old and she has a nice head, well developed neck but could be a bit longer
in the back, however this is typical of young foals at this age. She has a
very good trot."
