| Georgina Cattermole did a great job with her lovely 5 YO Austral Spellbound. She was winning after the first round so the judges also liked their performance. Spellbound is a Cleveland Bay and shows great potential to go on. Congratuations on a leading first round score of 68% | Zorro was ridden by Hayley Gilbert and is owned by her mum Lynette. Zorro is a big strong type ... and if my memory serves me correctly, he was bred by Richard Maidment. It is very satisfying for breeders to see the results of their efforts here at Young Dressage Horse competitions - well done Hayley. | ||||

| Never Mr. Beat is a TB by El Moxie. He is a lovely type but was quite naughty in this first round. He was ridden by Vanessa Griffiths and is owned by Elizabeth Griffiths. He was much better in round 2. | Rob Clay on Milawa Illusion. This horse is by the lovely Valuta stallion Zimran and from a TB mare. The horse is owned by Wendy McAuliffe who was thrilled with their performance. | ||||

| Belcam Cadet - a lovely dapple grey by Contango ll was very well prepared for this competition by Emmie Schmul. I saw him 6 months ago and saw a big improvement in his balance and poise. Emmie worked to keep the rhythm and expression. They went on to become this age group's winner - congratulations. | |||||

| Krana Pip and Kirsten Lingard. This is a lovely mare by the Hanoverian stallion Domingo. She is from a Macho mare. I liked Pip and felt that another 12 months will make a big difference to her work. | Sharon Streeter on Linford Park Don Concha - by Donnerheist and from a mare by the outstanding TB sire Favoured Bay. It is hard to go past a good TB mare and these bloodlines have been proven in producing performance horses. | ||||
 Jaybee Amanda and Sharyn McCombe - I expected a little more from Amanda - but perhaps this was her first outing for the season and she was not as relaxed as was necessary to produce her best. She is by the Aachen stallion Aachimedes and from a Monopol mare. |
 Belcam Conair - another nice young horse by Contango ll. He is owned by Jane Jones and ridden by Paul Austin. Conair lacked some looseness, but he is a 'skopey' horse with good potential |
