Report & Pictures by Berni Saunders

Having been to South Australia on a few occasions I was taken with the tradition of pre dinner drinks with friends.  I thought it was a custom of the wine growing districts, but I am now realising it is far more widespread.  In keeping with local custom, pre dinner was time for bikkies and cheese and then the presentations.

It was a lovely friendly atmosphere and it seemed there was something for everyone.

Unfortunately I was not able to attend Sunday's presentations as we had to dash off before the end of competition to catch the plane.

In the Preliminary 1.2 Renee Grubb on Sunny Sky Sensation was 1st. Georgia Gladwin on DP Lost My Socks 2nd, Prue Foletta on C Belgravia 3rd, Susan Paix on Sheer Etiquette 4th, Tracey Clayton on MEC Genesis 5th and Mandy Maiden on Bouton was 6th.  Congratulations to all.

In the Novice 2.2  Kerry Kirchner on Kareelah Maximum was the winner, Tracey Clayton on MEC Genesis was 2nd, Sharon Cox on Wedgewood Flair 3rd, Vicki Warner on VP Roddy Doyle 4th, Georgia Gladwin on DP Lost My Socks 5th with Susan Paix on Sheer Etiquette, Renee Grubb on Sunny Sky Sensation and Heather Currie on MEC Graphic all sharing 6th place.  Congratulations.

The winner of the Elementary 3.2 was Elizabeth Hunt on the imported chestnut Kerin-Or, 2nd was Jane Cafarella on WL Jerboa, VP Roddy Doyle and Vicki Warner were 3rd. Fiona Heysen-Smith and Kalinga Temerity were 3rd, Darbonaire with Wendy Brown 5th, and Gerry Wellington and Acacia Ridge Rumpole 6th.
Congratulations to the winner and all placegetters in this class.

Medium 4.2 saw Bina Lucas on Kings Waltz in top spot, Julia Weir on her lovely chestnut Ruben Kavalier (even more thrill as she bred her horse) 2nd, Jane Cafarella on WL Jerboa 3rd, Ruth Schneeberger on Hervey Bay 4th, Karen Horsell on Koorong Park Alfredo 5th and Emma Facey on Imaroo Phelan were 6th. Well done.

In the Advanced 5.2 Karen Stevens and Criminal Law were the winners and Elizabeth Hunt on NV Briary Heysen 2nd, Prue Foletta and Buchanan 3rd, Victor Bravo and Sam Moyle 4th Emma Facey and Imaroo Phelan 5th with Sarah Paech on Copy Book earning the 6th place.  Great result girls!

In the Prix St Georges  Michael Higginbottom on Abracadabra and Elizabeth Hunt on NV Briary Heysen shared the PSG Championship.  Michael seemed to do the gentlemanly thing and allowed Elizabeth to have the sash - he took settled for the envelope. Third went to Karen Stevens on Criminal Law, Alexandra Kowald on Jahahn Razadah were fourth, Prue Foletta and Buchanan were fifth and Sam Moyle on Victor Bravo were 6th.  Congratulations to all those successful in the PSG.

In the Elementary Freestyle was won by Ruth Schneeberger on Hervey Bay, with Sharon Cox on Wedgewood Flair 2nd, Jo McEvoy on her stunning grey Rimini Park Baricello and Bev Copping on the elegant bay Los Vientos 4th. Congrats.

In the Novice Freestyle the blue went to Dianne Green on Street Talk with Sue Thornley on Style Master in second place.  Well done girls.
Winners of the Pas de Duex were Michael Higginbottom and Jo Lloyd.

They were dressed in Scottish Checks and looked fantastic - unfortunately I was judging and just saw them in the distance.

Well done.

Many of the pictures are not of fantastic quality from a lighting
perspective as I was unable to move about to get in the best
position but if you would like a copy of a picture e-mail me.
