Above and below - following some of the steps taken by the huge (almost 18 hand, Irish Sporthorse) Kirby Park Irish Hallmark with his colourful and petite rider Megan Jones.

They come into the cross country as the leaders, having put in a fantastic performance in the dressage.  Hallmark's bit loose movement helped him to score very well in this phase.  A disappointing showjumping round saw them end in fourth place.

This horse is interestingly bred,  by the very well respected Thoroughbred stallion Balmoral Boy,  out of an Irish bred mare.  Megan breeds Irish horses and is no doubt keen to identify the ideal 'nicks and crosses' to produce another 'Hallmark'.  Well done Megan and Hallmark it was fun watching you out there.

Above - True Blue Toozac over the Apex and again at the finish. Boyd Martin rode well and would be pleased to get through without any serious problems.

Gillian Rolton would normally be dressed in joddies and cap but today she was part of the very experienced (and responsible) Ground Jury.
