Getting down to the final few in the Medium 4E test. |
 |
APH Suzette - a
lovely mare by the imported Trakehner stallion Zwion (now in New Zealand). This mare
is a very nice type, but in most of the work that I saw the horse was not engaged and,
with hind legs out the back, she lacked lightness and collection. The judges marks
suggest that they too saw a basic fault. On the positive ... there is alot to like
about Suzette, and attention to this fault will produce a much better result.
Good luck. A score of
55.56 saw tyhem at 25th position. |
 |
Greenoaks Legend
and Heath Ryan. This superb
imported gelding by Le Beau, did the best test that I saw all weekend - and without taking
anything away from Greenoaks Dundee, I felt that there should have been a much greater
difference between the marks from this test and second place! |
 |
Greenoaks Legend -
the only mistake was one flying change which was slightly late behind - at this level - no
a tragedy! |
 |
Heath Ryan is
riding so well - they tell me that he has been working very closely with Harry Boldt - and
if anyone has the experience to help Australian riders, surely it is Harry Boldt. (he is
our Assistant National Coach) |
 |
I must apologise
for being so indulgent with my pictures of Legend - I was dazzled by this performance and
I hope that you can see why! They
scored 67.89% for first place (I could have understood 75% for this test ... and still
wondered where Heath & Legend lost the other 25% of the marks?) |
 |
Kelara Chablis and
Jodie Dunstan from NSW - this combination are frequent visitors to Victoria for
competitions held at Werribee Park. Chablis
is an Arabian/Warmblood gelding and was bred by Victorian A Level judge Robert
Hammond,from Ballarat. |
 |
Kelara Chablis and
Jodie Dunstan - I have seen this combination do a much more flowing test - but that is
horses ... often it is not easy to get the best work when it is most important ... and
today the test had a little too much resistance into the bridle. They scored 57.78% for 18th place.

 |
Tristar and Di
Perkins. Yet another by the dressage supersire Ludendorf. Tristar, pictured here with the gear checker,
has exceptionally good paces and performed very well.
They scored 58.89% for 13th place. |
