SUPERB IN LOOKS, TEMPERAMENT, MOVEMENT WITH AN
  IMPECCABLE, INTERNATIONALLY PROVEN PERFORMANCE PEDIGREE.

Calypso Classic was imported from Germany as a three year old colt in 1993 and gained AWHA classification the following year.  He combines the most important blood lines of both the Hanovarian and Holstein stud books.  He is by the Holstein Calypso ll, by Cor de la Bryere.   His dam is by the Hanoverian Werther from a mare of the legendary Absatz dressage line.  The Calypso stallions have been prolific producers of showjumping stars.

Calypso Classic started his early training along the European training methods - focusing on Dressage.

1995 was an amazing first season, based in Sydney with Glennis Barrey and pitched against the toughest Australian competition, he was undefeated in nine consecutive starts and went on to win the NSW Novice and Elementary Dressage titles.  Then followed the Australian Novice Championship.

ccjumping.jpg (11739 bytes)In 1996 he was judged the Champion Young Dressage Horse of NSW and went on to be the overall Champion Young Dressage Horse at the AWHA Gala weekend, also taking off the highest score of all classes over the weekend.

In 1997 CC returned to Victoria and Mary Hanna took over the ride.  They were the reserve Champions at Medium level in both the Victorian and Australian Championships.  This year he proved himself as an outstanding sire when his foal - Silverdene Celebrity became the Grand Champion Foal at the prestigious AWHA Mare and Foal show at Werribee Park in Melbourne.

Having reached the strength and maturity to pursue the discipline of his ancestry, CC did some showjumping with Laurie Lever (pictured right)  and showed enormous scope with the natural style that makes champions.

So here is a stallion with a superb 'internationally sought' pedigree, with outstanding conformation, natural elastic movement and proven trainability who is proving his quality in the area that will count to you - the mare owner.  His pedigree makes him the ideal Dressage OR Showjumping sire.

Calypso Classic in an approved stallion with the AWHA and also with the Holstein Horse Association.

This Imported German stallion combines the very best
of centuries of both Hanoverian and Holstein breeding.

  • By Calypso ll, who is by Cor de la Bryere (sire of CORLANDUS - who was ridden by Margit Otto-Crepin, and to many ... the BEST Dressage horse ever, from a full sister to the dam of Christine Stükelberger's multi champion Dressage horse GRANAT
  • From a State Premium mare by WERTHER, the 1993 Hanoverian stallion of the Year, directly descended from the legendary FERDINAND.   She has the maternal blood line of ABSATZ, the most influential post war dressage stallion.
  • AWHA approved.

Prince Baracello by Prince Noir

(by Calypso Classic) and her
gorgeous Prince Noir colt foal

with delighted owner Fiona Hughes
(nee Redman).

Fiona Hughes has been around horses all of her life, and has competed with considerable success,   prior to settling down to family life.

Fiona fell in love with Silverdene Celebrity (Chrissy) when the lovely filly by Calypso Classic and out of Roxanne, blitzed the field of quality foals when she was sashed the 1997 Grand Champion Foal at the AWHA Mare and Foal Show in Melbourne.  Chrissy's dam Roxanne,  was a very special thoroughbred mare who competed to FEI dressage -  trained and campaigned by well known dressage coach, trainer and A Level judge, M. Kelly from Caramut, Victoria.

To Fiona, Chrissy has it all, fantastic looks with beautiful markings and a calm tractable and trainable temperament - this was her 'dream horse'.  Family commitments prevented Fiona from furthering Chrissy's career under saddle.

In 1998 the mare went to stud and has produced several outstanding foal by Prince Noir.  The first, Prince Baracello is pictured at only 3 weeks of age.  This charming young man took all the excitement in his stride, and went on to win his class at the 2001 AWHA Gala day.  His mum also won her class.

He is now under saddle and a real star in the making.

Silverdene Calypso Rock (1999)

2YO colt by Calypso Classic out of
FEI Dressage mare Roxanne (dec'd), making him a full brother to Silverdene Celebrity.

Calypso Rock is a wonderful example of the finest
European bloodlines over a quality, performance
proven thoroughbred mare.

This colt is extremely well developed
(he is pictured here winning
the Yearling Filly or Colt Class at the 2001
AWHA Gala Day  -  Melbourne).

Calypso Rock has wonderful movement with rhythm, lift
and suspension, which comes naturally and assures
him a future as a top level competitor and performance sire.
