Chital - by Capone born 09/12/03 from the Grannus ll mare Belcam Genie is a
half sister to Astonish the 2001 DWTS Champion of Champions. Chital has the
same wonderful expression in her movement she is sure to be a great riding
horse and perhaps later ... improve the Australian performance horse
gene pool! |
McKenzie Sisely, daughter of buyer Gary Sisely. Gary will, no
doubt have his talented wife Kerry or perhaps McKenzie ride his
outstanding filly in a few years time. She sold for $11,500 |
Below Left - Finnish superstar rider Kyra Kyrklund, was the 'riding Judge'
at the prestigious 2001 Dressage with the Stars event, she
rode the top three in each of the age groups. She obvioysly enjoyed
her ride on the flamboyant mover Astonish.
Right - Astonish was sashed
the "Champion of Champions" His regular rider Matthew Dowsley takes
the reins during their lap of honour.
Congratulations to the Sisely
family ... we all await the debut of Chital.

Above - Lot 13 is the very well developed yearling filly Calita born
09/12/03. She is so nicely proportioned and well grown that it is
difficult to believe that she is so young. Calita is by Capone and
friom the Belcam Glasgow mare Belcam Glade who is from Belcam Aardent by
Aachen. With such wonderful breeding this filly will be set to
achieve great things ... no matter what. Dave Middleton was again
the lucky buyer at $19,000 - It is terrific to see such good
quality horses go to top knowledgeable homes where they will get the
chance to realise their full potential. and advance Australia's
international competition prospects.

Lot 14 - the petite and feminine
filly Cheree - born on the 02/12/03 - by Contango and from the beautiful
TB mare Rose of Jerico who has produced outstanding riding horses with
great tractable temperaments. Jenny Gilbert was the lucky buyer for
$7,000

Above - Caspian is lot 15.
He was born on the 23/10/03 ... by Capone and from Belcam Glaslyn who is
from Belcam Genie the dam of Astonish (mentioned above) The double
cross to Grannus ll in this horse's pedigree assures him all future
options ... and his good looks are the icing on the cake. He sold to
Jenny Gilbert, who made it two in a row!
Sale price $11,000 was very realistic for such a wonderful quality
colt

Above - Lot 16 Chivon by Contango ll from the mare Razzamatazz who is by
Kate Wallace's respected performance TB stallion Rangatera. True to
her breeding this filly has a fantastic jump and was added to the
list purchased by David Middleton for $12.000.
All of the Belcam International
fillies showed steady temperaments and the qualities one would be looking
for in a top quality riding horse - of course they all have the potential
to go on become valuable brood mares at some time in the future.

Lot 17 - Codak born on the
17/08/02 is by Capone from the pure Arabian bred mare Coolong Park
Naziefa. Codak was so calm and composed as he came into the ring and
demonstrated that real 'look at me' quality that is so often associated
with Arabian bred horses - for many they are the ultimate show horse.
Warmbloods with a touch of
Arabian in their pedigree are gaining the well deserved reputation of
having that little extra in movement, personality and the charming good
looks that have attracted people all over the world, to the breed.
He was sold to Kees Wientjens from
Flowervale Warmblood
Stud in Yellingbo, Victoria for $10,000

Lot 128 is the lovely brown
cost Cardio born on the 23/09/03. Like all of the Belcam
International babies, Cardio is so well grown and cared fore, it is easy
to see his potential as he grows into a mature riding horse. Cardio
is by Capone from the Belcam Glasgow mare - Belcam Glade, which makes him
a full brother to the exciting Calita who was purchased earlier by David
Middleton for $19,000. The hammer fell when bidding reached
$13,250 and the buyer was well respected Veterinarian Glen
Robertson-Smith who felt that he would make a great horse for wife Isabel.
Glen is more involved in the
Thoroughbred racing industry where the practise of buying youngsters and
allowing them to grow and add value is called 'pin hooking' ! Glen
no doubt could see an upside of a $6,000 profit for twelve months and and
possibly an even better 'upside' is that his wife gets a truly
international quality riding horse to keep and train on.
Congratulations to Glen and
Isabel, great to see you at the 2004 Belcam International Sale.

Isabel Robertson-Smith |
Kristen Beard-Adams and Emma Youngman were keenly interested in the young
