BDDC Twilight Comp. Report Page 4

Berwick Dressage Club -
Peter Horobin Classic Twilight Competition

Sat  29th & Sun 30th November, 2003
Werribee Park National Equestrian Centre
Report & Pictures Page 4
by Berni Saunders

The Advanced classes do not seem to be given the support that this important class deserves.  I am sure this is because the standard and level of training that is required is very similar to the Prix St Georges.  There appears to be a greater sense of satisfaction and achievement for riders to do the latter test - and this makes the numbers at Advanced a little 'light on'.

I think that when next the EFA are revising the tests, there should be some consideration paid to this trend,  and the requirements made a little more clear with a definite step up to the FEI levels..

Torlea Evaluation takes a break before he takes part in the Advanced ring - he was the winner of the 5A class.

Winner of the 5C was Northern Delphinius and Debra Court - they are pictured here at the recent National Dressage Championships.

Heidi Davidson and Northern Adonis a horse who started his training with Natalie Frew and associates.

Roger & Anne Devney with Heidi Davidson (right) - all very keen to be involved in the progress of  Adonis.

Edrom Park Thomas and Michelle Oliver have gradually worked their way up the ladder and did some very impressive work to be third in the 5C

Guy Noir and Chartlotte Pedersen, who has taken over the ride on Joanna Clarkes imported gelding, while she is busy with studies and career.
Fiona McNaught and Balmoral Ice have had a very good season and Fiona is to be congratulated for her achievements as a Young Rider.  Balmoral Ice is still getting established at this level and Fiona's instructor Michael Baker has been very helpful and supportive.

Kitty Stapleton on her striking WB
cross - Mr Harrington.

The PH Mobile Store
A good weekend for business as the National Showhorse Championships were also on at Werribee/

Silvia Thurmer a great supporter of the BDC and breeder of some lovely
performance horses.

The Marquee is set up for the
dinner and FEI
Dressage - evening session.

Keen observers
