Class 1015 VASA First Season Small Saddle Pony

This class was
scheduled for 11 am and the day had begun to really warm up. I did spare a thought
for these small young ponies - what must they think of being dragged out from under the
shady tree and asked to give their best performance. Overall this group of quality
ponies worked well, but there were a few that showed their inexperience and another
twelve months will give them the chance to develop the strength and confidence to give
their best. I have included a picture of all of the ponies that presented for this
class. |

First to go was the delightful
liver chestnut - No. 313 Elizabeth of Thorwood - she was lovely. |

Weston Park Country Man the
elegant Buckskin worked very kindly. |

My Haven Windsong - the
nomination of Mrs. J.M. Graham was tense and this spoiled the rhythm and harmony. |

Dalgangle China Doll - lovely
pony but to my eye a little overmounted! A rider to compliment this petite little
mare would have been a much more pleasing picture. |

Bickleigh Pacemaker lacked the
sparkle of some of the more fluent moving ponies, but he was beautifully presented. |

I was sitting next to Joan Bell
who kindly helped me to spot numbers. She
was there to cheer on tiny Serena Brillanti and Wesley Dale Love Affair.
I felt rather inclined to join in the enthusiasm.
Serena did a wonderful job, and page three of this class will reveal her success.
I would be very happy for Joan and her 'cheering team' to
come and watch me if they bring this much luck ... Well done Serena. |
