Competition 13 - Intermediate Kür - Sat. 27th
Oct. - Page 1 |
It was such an exciting atmosphere in the magnificent indoor stadium
at the Sydney International Equestrian Centre - how fortunate we are to have such a
facility here in Australia. Everything is perfect - the riding surface is excellent,
the seating and clear vision for all spectators could not be faulted and adequate warm up
areas close by, for the convenience of the competitors.
The sound system filled the
stadium and added so much to the performances. The Intermediate Kur (Freestyle) is
always an interesting event, as it brings to public attention the up and coming horses,
and the placegetters in this event are very likely to be the top FEI horses of the future.
The Judges were Jan Bird from
New Zealand at C, Virginia Creed from Victoria at H, Roger Fitzhardinge from NSW at M,
Wendy Cooper from NSW - a sideline judge at E and Susie Hoevenaars on the other side at B.
Taking pictures in indoor arenas
is never the ideal for good clear images as the lighting presents problems. There
are patches where there is lots of light and then very dark spots. Even though not
all of these pictures are perfect, they do help to capture the moment. |
 |
Jan Bird from New
Zealand was the centre line judge for this event. Gill Rickard is the writer. |
 |
Victorian FEI I
Level Judge - Virginia Creed from Victoria. |
 |
Roger Fitzhardinge
- National A Level Judge - he had a busy weekend as he also ride his lovely grey Berkeley
Castle in the Novice Classes. |

AR Bo and Veronica
Langford from NSW are first to go in the Intermediate Kur. Veronica Chose music with a catchy strings theme -
which was an appealing choice for her trot work.
The horse is a Thoroughbred by Knighthood. |
 |
AR Bo would have
lost marks on the technical side as he became too deep at times - the final score
confirmed this. I loved the
African feel to the canter accompaniment, and felt that this musical compilation showed
much innovative flair
They scored 55.28% for 10th place. |
 |
I've Got Rhythm and
Ann Behringer chose the very 'toe tapping' Crazy little thing called Love, for the trot
work, for a pleasing ans weel choreographed test. |
 |
I've Got Rhythm is
also a Thoroughbred ... by Kongs Island. Some technical hitches affected the score
and they finished on 55.83% in 9th place. |
