Competition 14 - Grand Prix Kür (CDI-W) -
Sat. 27th Oct. - Page 3 |
The
Saturday evening Grand Prix Kür continues to a packed house... |
 |
Campaspe Park Greta
and Lisa Alexander from Victoria. This popular combination always do a great job
with their Freestyle to music - Lisa seems to have a flair for this element of dressage. |
 |
Lisa chose a catchy
Beetles medley which included the one about the "Apeman" and "Eleanor
Rigby". It was a great
test with some real highlights in the Piaffe/Passage sequences. |
 |
Greta is by the
Imported/Exported/Imported stallion Granada, who is known to produce good moving horse
which need sensitive handling. The
talented mare broke in the final extended trot ... and these errors are costly at this
level.
They scored 59.30% for 11th placing. |
 |
Rozzie chose pretty
'Mediterranean' style orchestral music for the canter segments of her Freestyle test, with
her talented and obliging partner, Exellent. In today's performance the Piaffe/Passage was very strong. |
 |
It is difficult to
imagine a better balanced and positioned Piaffe than this one at X - this difficult
movement is Exellent's strong point, and Rozzie ensured that her test took advantage of
this forte. |
 |
Exellent also showed
good balance in the canter pirouettes - it was a very nice performance and they scored
61.55% for 7th place. |
 |
Mary Hanna on her
solid performer Limbo. They
entered the ring to the sounds of James Bond and Goldfinger. The music changed to
Thunderball, and some Star Wars excerpts could also be found in this interesting medley. |
 |
It was a very secure
test, but some swinging in the passage would have been costly. |
 |
The canter
pirouettes had lift but lost rhythm - and I did not feel that this choice of music was
quite up to the standard that one expects from Mary - but this sentiment was
obviously not have been shared by the judges! They scored 66.78% - a good score for 4th placing. |
