For the first time Equitana will be presenting “An Evening with Guy McLean” where world class education and entertainment go hand in hand to make an unforgettable event.
Be there to be inspired and experience an evening of horsemanship, starting at the beginning where Guy will start a young horse, to the height of horsemanship with his four finished performance horses mixed with whip cracking, award winning bush poetry and visual and sound effects.
Guy shares his love of horses by performing at shows, festivals and corporate events all across the world showcasing his and his horse’s ability in front of crowds of up to and over 20,000 people for the past 12 years. Guy was also named two-time Australian Bush Poetry Champion during this time and Official Ambassador of the Outback.
At the “Evening with Guy McLean”, Guy will demonstrate another Equitana first whereby he will start an unridden young horse in an open arena displaying the trust and obedience gained on a horse’s first ride. Starting a young horse in an open arena simulates how Guy starts his performance horses and enables him to build a strong and lasting bond between him and his horses. In 2005, Guy won the first Australian Horsemanship Challenge “the Way of the Horse” at Equitana. Guy will once again show you step by step how he starts young horses on their first ride. During this segment he will provide a full explanation on his methods and reasons for the way he trains his horses.
Guy’s limitless imagination and endless desire to improve has enabled him to accomplish training feats that are unequalled all over the word. This is your chance to witness a horseman and entertainer at his peak in a show dedicated to the horse, his training and your viewing pleasure.
Guy has devoted his life to the mental, physical and emotional development of the horse. He is always eager to share the infinite beauty of a relaxed, supple, confident and willing equine partner.
