This event bring
the elegance and style of the Melbourne Spring Racing Carnival's
Fashions on the Field to Dressage with the Stars.
This
is a great opportunity to frock up and have some fun. Pernille
Hogg (right) of Catago came up with the idea in 2003
and 'Fashions' has become a popular drawcard in it's own right.
In 2005 we were
able to bring something of the fun of Thoroughbred Racing to
Dressage enthusiasts through the involvement of Collingrove
Stud,
which is one of Australia's leading thoroughbred studs and managed
by Adam Sangster. The Sangster name is synonymous with racing
and Adam sees that the fun of racing has a great deal to offer
and he would like to encourage everyone here to have a day at the
races and experience the fashion, horses, food and wine ... and
enjoy the company of good friends - that is what going to the races
is all about!!
Pernille, who is known for her sense of style did much of the 'behind
the scenes' organisation and her expertise helped to make the event a real hit. People
crowded around ,all of them keen on the opportunity for some light hearted
relief from the serious business of winning Dressage or Showjumping
events.
The
action was kept bright and entertaining as TV personality Tottie
Goldsmith introduced the entrants and gave details about their
interesting fashions. Tottie has the quick wit and charming
manner to put the girls at ease and talk them through their modelling
routines. Tottie and very appropriately dressed Collingrove representative, Sophie Wyett
jointly judged the contest and the eventual winner was a unanimous choice.

All
of the contestants took 'Fashions' very seriously and the girls had
spent a great deal of time and effort choosing the outfits they
wore.
The
prizes were a great incentive to participate ... the winner received
a $1,000 voucher from Catago Riding Wear and a day at the races for the winner and her partner, as the guest of Collingrove Stud. They will join
Adam and Sophie who will point out the 'sure winners' and best bars - now that will be fun!
The
second prize was a $400 voucher from Morrisons Country Clothing and
a single membership in the Cyberhorse
Racing Club.
Third prize was a $300 Just Jeans Voucher and Peter Alexander Gift
Pack.
