KP Riccadonna
who is owned by Alisha & Sue Adams and ridden by Christine Seivers.
This is another of the nice young horses by the former DWTS
Champion of Champions, Rituel. The powerfully built chestnut mare
offered kind and flowing test and handled the hype like a seasoned
campaigner. Chris has had some help from A Level judge Robert
Hammond. They have done a great job with the mare and all
connections were delighted.

Motion was just that!!! This 4 YO is a truly stunning type, by the
frozen semen stallion Pommeroy from a Salute mare. He was well
ridden and presented … and a very ‘neat’ package. His rider/trainer
David Shoobridge from Revelwood Stud in NSW told me that he has not
long been out under saddle and this was by far, the biggest
experience in his life! David and his wife Amanda said that they
recognised that they could not expect too much from the gorgeous
youngster. David rode tactfully and well. He has a reputation for
being a real gentleman of the sport and a fine horseman. The
perfectly marked stallion has elastic paces and is an exciting
prospect for the future. He also took part in the Dressage judges
clinic on Monday and this is all very good experience. I cannot
wait to see him next year.

Alicante is next. The young Hannovarian mare is by Anamour, with
Graf Laudau listed as the dam’s sire. She is immature against some
in this group and not yet strong enough over the back to compare
with the more precocious of the 4 YO’s. However, she shows quality
for the future and was well ridden by South Australian professional
Ruth Schneebeger.

Clintina is a
favourite of mine! The attractively marked mare has ‘chocolate box’
good looks and three excellent paces. She was little more
distracted that usual her usual ‘cool’ composed self,
understandably, the big atmosphere can cause some new tensions for
some of the less experienced horses. Clintina has always been a
model of good manners and today’s reaction was a shame for her
breeder/owner Georgia Calvert (the newly appointed president of the
AWHA Vic. Branch). Matthew Archibald did the great job as I have
come to expect from this talented young professional. Georgia plans
to keep “Clydie” to ride and compete for a while, then she will join
the quality band of broodmares at Rayner Hill Farm in Clyde (near
Berwick)

Jeff the Chef W
was ridden by German Beireiter Silva Stigler. He shows a very nice
trot even though it is perhaps a little out behind. He is by the
super stallion Jive Magic and was bred by Heath Ryan. He is the 1st
foal by Jive Magic so I am sure he is a sentimental favourite of the
stallion’s fans.

This black
gelding has progressed well … and on a good day he is exceptional!
Sometimes he lacks attention to his rider and if he gets tired, he
can lose self carriage and the frame that makes him special. BB
Caper showed some tension today and this spoilt the flow and
lightness in front. When we could see his best work his natural
talent and ability shined through.

Anastacia, again an immature horse and tension caused hurried
paces. However, there was scope in the basic paces and a year’s
further training will do wonders for this young mare. By Snowview
Revelation from a TB mare.
