Eighteen months ago Janette acquired a
5yr old Waler stallion, Noble Comrade. Previously, "Bennet"
had run wild on a station near Alice Springs. With knowledge
gained from great horsemen such as Monty Roberts and Steve Brady and
the 'clicker training' technique, she has been able to transform
Noble Comrade into a Northern Territory celebrity.
He has appeared on stage with Ted Egan,
appeared in a play with the Darwin Theatre Company, has led the last
two NT Anzac Day March's and in May 2005 carried the flame into the
opening ceremony for the Arafura Games in front of 12,000 people!
Janette is our only female contestant
in Equitana's new competition The Way of The Horse. On
Monday afternoon she will take on David Simons and Guy McLean and
demonstrate that is not only men that practice Natural Horsemanship.
Janette will be travelling down from Darwin with Noble Comrade.
During her daily education sessions, Janette will be demonstrating
basic horse handling and problem solving using the Clicker method.
