EquiFit Inc. Announces Sponsorship of Olympic Three-Day Event Rider Darren Chiacchia

EquiFit Inc. Announces Sponsorship of Olympic Three-Day Event Rider Darren Chiacchia

Boston, MA- September 28- Equifit Inc., the company that offers a complete line of products for riders who are serious about performance, is pleased to announce their sponsorship of Olympic Three-Day event rider Darren Chiacchia, of Springville, NY, and Ocala, FL.  Equifit Inc. offers an extensive range of products, including: the revolutionary T-Boot horse boots, T-Form saddle pads, and the industry’s only riding posture correction garment, ShouldersBack.

Darren Chiacchia has competed in equestrian sports for over twenty years.  His first international experience came in 1995, when he rode as a United States Equestrian Team member in the Open European Championships in Italy.

Chiacchia has competed at the Rolex Kentucky Three-Day Event, CCI 4*, the Burghley Three-Day Event in England.  In 1999, he won the Bromont CCI 2* on R.G. Renegade, owned by Colleen Hofstetter.  In that same year, R.G. Renegade was reserve champion USCTA Horse of the Year.

In 2000, Chiacchia was also listed as the travelling alternate for the Three-Day Event team at the 2000 Olympic Games in Sydney, Australia.  He competed as an individual at the 2002 World Equestrian Games in Jerez, Spain.  In 2003, he was named the chairman of the USEA Events Rating Task Force and the USEA Rider Representative Committee.

Chiacchia’s most successful mount has been Windfall II, a 12 year old black Trakehner stallion owned by Timothy Holekamp.  In 2003, the pair topped a 90-horse starting field to win the 2003 United States Equestrian Team (USET) Three-Star Spring Championship title before earning the Individual Gold Medal at the 2003 Pan American Championships in Santo Domingo, Dominican Republic.

Chiacchia and Windfall II went on to win the Bayer Modified Four Star division of the 2004 Rolex Kentucky Three Day Event in Lexington, Kentucky, which was modelled after the revised format that the athletes would face in Athens,.

Chiacchia’s achieved his lifelong dream when he and Windfall II were selected to be a part of the Three-Day Event team for the 2004 Olympic Games in Athens, Greece.  They gave a solid performance for the United States team, who ended up with the Team Bronze medal.

“I’m excited about partnering with Equifit and their current line of products,” said Chiacchia.  “Show jumping is an important part of our competition. T-Boots help my horses in that phase of Three-Day Eventing.”

Equifit, Inc. is dedicated to helping riders improve and become more competitive.  In addition to Chiacchia, they are proud to work with 2004 Athens Olympic silver medalist McLain Ward, as well as grand prix riders Michael Morrissey, Peter Breakwell IV, Joie Gatlin, Callan Solem, and Australian Three-Day event rider Christine Bates.

Designed by an orthopedic company, the T-Boot Series™ is filled with T-Foam, a revolutionary pressure-relieving viscoelastic material that conforms to the horse’s body, providing maximum support and pressure-point dispersal and eliminating chafing and abrasion.  Under body pressure and heat, T-Foam conforms and moulds to all contours and bone structures of the horse’s legs and absorbs up to 90 percent of all impact.  Because the fit is exact, support and stability are maximized, dirt and debris build-up is minimized, and pressure points are eliminated.  When the T-Boots are removed, T-Foam recovers 100 percent of its original shape, ready to provide a perfect custom fit for every horse, every time.

Equifit’s product line includes five different models of T-Boots.  T-1  and T-2  are both open front tendon boot models.  The T-4  and T-5  are hind ankle boots.  The T-6 , which are hind ankle boots that offer double Velcro closures.  The boots are all easy-on, durable, and are offered with either lint-resistant Velcro closures (T-1, T-4, and T-6) or attractive leather closures (T-2, T-5).

They have also expanded their line to include two new T-Boots.  The T-Boot LUXE™ is made of top quality, water resistant, brown French leather.  It is neoprene free and combines a sophisticated look with the technologically advanced T-Foam lining.

It is manufactured by CWD Sellier, who provide the ultimate leather products in equine sports performance.  They concentrate on producing the best equipment and join the aesthetic of the best French classicism with modern innovation.

The T-Boot EXP™ has leather-like styling and an extremely durable shell.  It also features removable, washable T-Foam liners that can also be replaced.

In addition to boots, the T-Foam material is used in the T-Form saddle pads that fit a wide range of saddles and come in a saddle shape or a square shape.  Both feature a removable, easy to wash, faux sheepskin cover.  They mold to every anatomical detail of the saddle and horse’s back.  Using open-cell foam technology, the pad is exceptionally light, breathable, and easy to clean and maintain.

Although Equifit mostly sponsors grand prix riders, their boots and saddle pads can be used for a wide array of equestrian disciplines, including dressage, eventing, endurance, reining, trail riding, and racing.

Equifit president Alexandra Cherubini, of Boston, MA, is also an equestrian.  “I developed the T-Boot Series™ after years of trying different boots on the market,” said Cherubini.  “There really was nothing out there that addressed the full range of issues and conditions that horses encounter in the show ring and in everyday work.”  Cherubini competes in the Adult Hunter and Jumper divisions and uses her products on her horses.
