At Medium level there were some very nice performances
the judges
Jill Cobcroft and Helen Heagney agreed on their winner in the 4.3 class
- Cathy Chittenden on Skeptique. Jill was 29 points ahead of Helen
in the score tally, but both judges agreed that Cathy was the winner - our
congratulations to her and Skeptique.
It was nice to see Sue Hearn, who is known to most
Australian Dressage enthusiasts for dazzling performances on her
wonderful FEI horse Manahatten. Sue rode beautifully and to me, showed
the benefit of her trip to the UK as the reserve Australian team rider at
the European Dressage Championships in August/September last year. Sue did some training with Kyra
Kyrklund and had the opportunity for international competition experience and all
of this exposure has gone a long way to help with the polished
performance we saw today. Well done Sue.
Melinda Knowles and Waiwera Domingo presented a very
elegant picture for their 4.3 ride. Melinda bred her attractive
horse along with a few of the horses that were part of the 2004 Canberra
Classic Championships
competition.
In Pandolientje,
ridden by Anne Cartwright,
I saw a truly beautiful and correct
extended walk - and better still I was able to capture it in my pictorial
record of the event. What a delightful and supple horse - I would
love to learn more about him. Unfortunately the program did not list
the breeding, age or other details of the horses. I have included
two impressive pictures of Pandolientje below.
Congratulations Anne you rode him so nicely.
What great energy in the trot -
perhaps slightly hollow,
but very expressive and forward.
Pandolientje
- look at the hind legs and the stretch to the bit -
lovely!
