Superior FM & Glenn Pearce in 2001
It is with the very deepest sorrow that we let our
friends know of the passing of Superior FM, as a result of complications of colic surgery
today.
Barney, as he was affectionately known by those who
loved him, was one of the most popular competition stallions in Queensland. Not only
for his small stature (16 hands) but also for his HUGE heart, personality and charisma.
Barney has been a pleasure to own and train. He
was recognised by international personality Max Amman as one of the very few horses to
have reached the top in both dressage and showjumping. Superior FM was the 2002
Grand Prix winner of the Queensland EFA's prestigious 'Sunshine Series' for
dressage. As a younger horse Barney competed and placed in World Cup Showjumping
competitions and his willingness to give his best made him a champion in this discipline.
We can never replace our 'friend' but are delighted
to have a super colt by him that is very exciting ... and following in his dad's
footsteps. We have two mares in foal to Barney and so eagerly await the birth of the
babies. Of course we are hoping for another Barney to fill the very big gap that the
loss of our wonderful stallion has left.
Superior FM will be greatly missed - we are
devastated to say the least - and find it difficult to imagine life without him.
Thank you to all of the people who have heard of our
troubles with Barney. Your friendship and support has meant a great deal to us.
We look forward to happier days.
Jacqui and Glenn
