Lucinda Fredericks (nee Murray), wife of UK-based Eventing rider Clayton Fredericks,
finally received her Certificate of Australian Citizenship last weekend. Lucinda will now
"officially" be able to ride for Australia. Lucinda has had FEI permission to
start under our flag for some time, because of her Permanent Resident status.
Lucinda won the Punchestown Three-Day Event (IRE) in May this year, carrying the
Australian flag, and later scored a 65% in Grand Prix Dressage (3% above the qualifying
score for the World Championships).
"We are very pleased to have Lucinda officially on board," said EFA President
Russ Withers. "As a top rider in both Dressage and Eventing, Lucinda may present
selectors with greater options, especially in the lead-up to the Athens 2004 Olympic
Games."
Clayton and Lucinda are presently based in Great Britain preparing horses with Athens
2004 firmly in their sights.
