Eventing Squads ReleasedSydney Olympic gold medallist Stuart Tinney is the most
notable omission from the national Eventing squads released by the EFA. Tinney's Olympic
horse Jeepster has not competed since the Games in 2000 and his World Games horse Ava has
been sold, leaving the gold medallist without a horse that meets the squad criteria.
Another gold medal horse Kibah Sandstone, ridden by Matt Ryan, has also been removed from
the elite squad however Ryan has horses on both squads.
Nikki Chapman (Qld) has been selected on the elite squad for the first time
following her 1st placing at Adelaide 3 star in 2002 and is joined by another winner of a
3 star with Lucinda Fredericks making the elite squad on her Punchestown (IRL) winner
Bally Leck Boy. Fredericks, who is now eligible for Australian selection following her
change in citizenship, also has another 3 star winner on the squad with her Blenheim 2002
winner listed on the 'A' sqaud. UK based rider Bill Levett has been rewarded with sold
performances at Badminton and Burghley and makes the elite squad for the first time on his
12 year old thoroughbred Time Will Tell VI. Former elite squad rider Shane Rose makes a
welcome re-appearance on the elite squad with Pam and Ron Slade's mare Beauford Miss Dior
following their second placing at the Adelaide 4 star in 2002.
