CARA WHITAM NAMED AS CHIEF JUDGE
Cara Whitam internationally renowned FEI Three
Day Event judge and judge at the World Equestrian Games in Spain this September has agreed
to head the Ground Jury for the ** and *** at this years Melbourne International Three Day
Event. This will give many of the Australian based riders trying out for the WEG exposure
to one of the worlds current leading judges. Who knows after 3 Olympic gold medals and our
first recent Trans Tasman win we may come out on top at the WEG as well! Funding from the
High Performance manager Gareth McKeen ensures that this high quality judging is possible
at Melbourne.
Brian Schrapel who judged at the Sydney Olympics and Barry Roycroft
will judge with Cara in the ** and *** classes.
WAYNE ROYCROFT TO COURSE DESIGN
To help achieve a good result Wayne Roycroft
President of the FEI Three Day Event Committee and Head Coach of the Australian Eventing
Team has agree to donate his services to design the cross country course at Melbourne this
year. A great team led by Ewen Kellet will build the *, ** and *** courses to be
challenging for all competitors. Through the International Competition Development Fund
administered by the EFA and the Friends of Werribee a substantial amount has been donated
to Melbourne to ensure the course is up to international standard.
TIMETABLE INCLUDING SHOWJUMPING INDOORS
Entries limited to 140 competitors so we have one action packed
cross-country day on Sunday 9th June.
The timetable will be:
Thursday 6th June Trot Up and Welcome Function in the
indoor at night
Friday 7th June Junior, * and ** DRESSAGE and Riders
Meeting at night
Saturday 8th June * & *** Dressage & Harness
competition in the indoor all day & night
Sunday 9th June Cross Country all classes followed by a
party in the indoor!
Monday 10th June Showjumping for all classes with seating
inside the indoor school all day!
Schedules and tickets will be available from the EFA office (Vic
Branch) from April.
