Fifty one horses have entered so far and entries include last yearıs winner and Olympic gold medallist, Stuart Tinney who this time around will be riding Tex.

Amanda Ross, who represented Australia in the individual event at the Sydney Olympics has also entered but is not riding her Olympic mount Otto Schumaker. Instead Amanda will be riding Wynella Rialto who she took over from Shane Rose recently.

Rose a former winner of the Melbourne International is riding his regular mount Itıs A Knockout.

Wendy Schaeffer, Atlanta gold medallist and winner of the two-star event at the Melbourne International last year, should give the field a strong challenge on the talented Sun Smart. Schaeffer will have two bites at the prize money as she has also entered a newcomer to Melbourne, Riverside Othello.

David Middleton winner of the prestigious Adelaide Four Star International last year, is also entered this time riding the talented grey he has been bringing up through the ranks, R.U.N.V.S.

New Zealander Blair Richardson will be giving the event his best on the Australian owned horse Tallman while Irelandıs Pauline McKee is having two bites at it, riding Mister Moss and RL Taxman. Blair is currently based in Scone, NSW, while McKee is on a "riding holiday" .

1999 winners Christine Bates and Masterpiece will again be out to give it their best shot while last yearıs runner up Catherine Davies and Queens Consort have made the trip from Tasmania. The talent of this pair can be measured by the fact that Davies is also a member of the Australian Young Riders dressage squad.

The Melbourne International will be staged from Thursday June 7 to Monday June11.
