| Nominations for Dressage Team Olympic Games 2000 | ||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||
| Twelve riders & thirteen horses will
battle it out for the four places on the Dressage Team for the Olympic Games. European
based rider Kristy Oatley-Nist has had Olympic plans since she was sent overseas at the
age of thirteen to train with German Dressage Trainers. Her ambitions have been rewarded
by being placed 6th in a top European competition just two weeks ago on
Rosemount Wallstreet. Although she has two nominated horses she will be challenged by Australian based riders, Rozzie Ryan, Australian National Champion 1999 and Mary Hanna who represented Australia at Atlanta. Rachael Downs who won the Sydney CDI recently and Di Jenkyn the 2000 National Champion are also strong contenders. Remarkable equestrian coach and probably the peoples choice Heath Ryan has been nominated for the Dressage Team after having the tragic bad luck of having his best horse miss out on the final selection event for eventing.
The final selection trial for the Australian based riders is the NSW Championships on 4th-6th of August 2000 at Clarendon, NSW. |
