Tashkent Babies - Our ''brag" page!

November 2005 was a month of great excitement for everyone at Tashkent Friesians in NSW.  The safe arrival of Ymkje Z's foal was a great relief ... and to get a healthy filly, was the best early Christmas present we could have dreamed of.  We called the filly Siena and she is from the beautiful imported purebred mare Ymkje Z by the Friesian stallion Fabe.

Ymkje Z's sire is Nykle and her dam Hesther Z is by Jochem.  The family is strong in The Netherlands (their country or origin) and this pedigree adds a great deal to the gene pool of the rapidly growing Australian Friesian Stud Book.

Pictured right - Ymkje Z & her Fabe filly Siena born 14th November 2005.

We first saw Ymkje Z when we were in the Netherlands buying broodmares and decided to purchase the purebred Tia as she was confirmed in foal, (leaving the empty Ymkje Z in Holland).  However ... we could not get the the floating movement and presence of Ymkje Z out of our minds.  When back in Australia, we decided to go ahead and buy the mare and by this time Ymkje Z was confirmed in foal.  She produced an outstanding colt and after some 'yes and no' negotiations, we decided that her foal would also come to Australia and join us at Tashkent.   This turned out to be an inspired decision as 4 days before he left The Netherlands Ymkje Z's colt was presented for his foal classification (Keuring) and was awarded a first premium. This award is something very rare and only given to the top 5% of foals. Ymkje Z has already proven her worth to our breeding program and we look forward to this wonderful influence in her future foals ... very exciting times ahead!

Meet Teora, our little princess! ( below)

We were delighted to announce the safe arrival of Django of Cacharel’s eagerly awaited first foal, a filly we called Teora.

She was born on the 16 February 2006 (a little early).  The filly and her dam Nienke fan Faldens (Tia) were both well and Teora's arrival marked a very special time in our breeding program.  From an early age 'Django first' was a 'daddy’s girl' for sure and quite unlike Tia's last foal, who was the spitting image of mum in type and temperament.

Teora was very confident from the start with no fear and a strong independent streak.  Teora has been sold to a wonderful home in New Zealand and is pleasing her owners and making new friends for Friesians.
