Para-Equestrian Nationals to be held in Sydney
The inaugural Equestrian Australia Para-Equestrian National Championships will now be held at Sydney International Equestrian Centre (SIEC), Horsley Park, 23-26 September.
The inaugural Equestrian Australia Para-Equestrian National Championships will now be held at Sydney International Equestrian Centre (SIEC), Horsley Park, 23-26 September. This is a change from the original venue of Dubbo.The event is the first-ever Para-Equestrian Championships under the auspices of Equestrian Australia.
International Judge Alison King (HGK) will head the Judges’ panel and will be accompanied by Australia’s Jan Geary, who will have recently returned from judging at the European Para-Equestrian Championships in Norway.
Equestrian Australia would like to thank the Australian Paralympic Committee for their support of this event.
A Para-Equestrian Development and Open Day will be held at SIEC on Sunday, 27 September, Activities include a judges’ clinic hosted by Jan Geary, who is a Para-Equestrian ‘O’-level judge and Judge at the 2008 Paralympic Games. Jan has also been invited to judge at the 2010 Alltech FEI World Equestrian Games in Kentucky.
A Para-Equestrian National Squad Training clinic will be held at SIEC 27-29 September.The next major Para-Equestrian competition will be a CPEDI3* held 10-13 December in conjunction with the Victorian Dressage Festival.
This will serve as a qualification and selection event for the 2010 World Equestrian Games.Equestrian Australia is excited and committed about the integration of Para-Equestrian into our High Performance Program.
