Global Champions Tour moves to Monte Carlo

An event both spectacular, and thrilling,  Monte Carlo brings together the best riders of the Global Champions Tour for a three day meet of unparalleled calibre. The Monaco competition is a gold-standard event, with highly distinguished riders vying for success on courses perfectly groomed and meticulously prepared by equally eminent designers and marshals. This event, featuring a programme of outstanding sporting achievements and technical riding in a setting of unequalled luxury, has become an unmissable fixture on the calendars of horse enthusiasts. An enchanting location alongside Port Hercule, nestled at the foot of the Rocher's steep rock ramparts, and facilities of the very highest standard, further emphasise the unique qualities that are Monaco's hallmark. The top riders, the best mounts, with the sea on one side and the Prince's palace on the other. If the horse is man's most noble conquest, the Jumping International of Monte Carlo has become, through the care and professionalism of its organisers, a truly noble event.

The weekend of June 25-27th will be a particularly exceptional one. The Monaco stage of the Global Champions Tour, acknowledged as the most glamorous of the series, will be hosting the world's most celebrated riders in a setting facing out over the world's most beautiful yachts, and framed by the Port Hercule and Prince's palace. Three unique days, with enthusiastic competitors already biting at the bit to test themselves against a richly challenging event meticulously prepared by a course designer of international renown.

The course being prepared for the 2009 Jumping International of Monte Carlo is both excellent and somewhat fiendish, the designer having created a technically challenging event. The most supremely skilled horse and rider pairings will deploy the full extent of their majestic complicity in attempting to secure this competition's well endowed prize. The crowning glory of the Monaco stage of the Global Champions Tour is the Prince Albert II of Monaco Grand Prix, awarded at a ceremony broadcast live on the Eurosport channel - a frolicking event that for the many passionate admirers of the noble beast, it alone warrants a visit to the Principality.

Extreme concentration, shrewd and elegant complicity, are all embodied in this timeless, and fabled partnership between horse and rider. Add to that the idyllic setting that is the Principality of Monaco, and a flawless organisational dynamic, and you deliver an equally fabled Jumping event. Set alongside the world's most beautiful yachts, the Port Hercule will host a rolling succession of trials - the galloping pace of events sure to leave us all quite breathless. The Monaco stage of the Global Champions Tour: three truly exceptional and spellbinding days.

The rider list should shortly be available on www.globalchampionstour.com .
