SHOW YOUR SUPPORT AND HELP THE AUSTRALIAN INTERNATIONAL 3 DAY EVENT SURVIVE
After the announcement the Australian International 3 Day Event was in jeopardy due to a budget shortfall, Gillian Rolton, Event Director of the AI3DE said the show of support from the equestrian community and general public this week had been amazing.
"While we have not yet secured a major sponsor for the Australian International 3 Day Event we have had many people wanting to donate money to assist in reducing the budget shortfall," said Mrs Rolton.
"All we need is 2000 people to donate $50 each and we will have the funds to run this year's event."
Equestrian enthusiasts are being asked to show their support by donating much needed funds to the 2009 Australian International 3 Day Event to ensure the event is run this year.
Oopy MacGillivray (nee Kimpton), previously a high level event rider, has come up with the idea of the ‘Australian International 3 Day Event Survival Fund'.
"If everyone who has ridden at or enjoyed being involved with either the Gawler or Adelaide 3 Day Events can donate a little it will go a long way to keeping this event alive," said Oopy.
"Wittalocka Angus and the MacGillivray Family have kicked things off with a $1,000 donation to the Australian International 3 Day Event Survival Fund and I urge all other horsey people to make a small donation."
"We would like to thank the generosity of the MacGillivray family and Oopy for the fantastic show of support to keep the AI3DE event alive," said Ms Rolton.
"Although we have only just begun the ‘Survival Fund' we are getting a huge response from the ‘Equestrian family' locally and interstate and this goes to show the large level of support for this fantastic event."
