An ultimate ten for Ulla Salzgeber and Herzruf's Erbe

At the same nice venue where in 2007 the European Championships have been held, now CDI3* La Mandria took place. The winner of the European teamgold and individual gold in 2001 (Verden) and 2003 (Hickstead) showing Rusty, now has two promising horses Herzruf’s Erbe and Wakana who might direct her in the situation again to go for a new team challenge. The 1.80m tall, slim and dark-haired rider has demonstrated that in the training of both horse and rider, continuity and discipline are essential elements and she again is demonstrating very good results. Her nerves of steel are useful in the competition arena also…
In La Mandria Ulla Salzgeber showed Herzruf´s Erbe to both the Grand Prix win and the win in the Special. She commented critically on her Grand Prix win: “We still have to improve some details of course. The relaxation and looseness in the extended walk could have been better. And also the reign back this time was not diagonal as Herzi was not really collected in the halt. However for the very first time we received the remarkable ultimate mark of a 10 for a piaffe! For another piaffe we were rewarded with 9. Also the left canter pirouette was rewarded with 9. I am most pleased with Herzi and will continue this way up.”

Eight ways to tell the differences between Herzi and Heidi

Many people have asked Ulla: which horse is Herzi (Herzruf's Erbe) and which one is Heidi (Wakana)? They do look rather alike as are both striking chestnuts with white socks.
So in order to help the fans we have produced this ‘Stall Salzgeber’s eight ways to tell the difference’:
1. Heidi has a brown spot on the end of her nose
2. Herzi has a pointed bum and Heidi a round one.
3. Herzi has stripey feet and Heidi has black feet.
4. Heidi wears her socks higher than Herzi.
5. Heidi has a broad white blaze and Herzi a fine one.
6. Herzi always looks surprised, Heidi always looks content.
7. Herzi is bigger so Ulla’s legs look even longer on Heidi!
8. If you are still not sure Herzi is a boy and Heidi is a girl.
So look underneath and you will know for sure!!
