DONNA CARRERA - Sold to Sweden Black Hanoverian Mare - DOB: 22.01.1994 Sire: Donnerhall Dam St. Pr. Rivera (Sire of Dam: Raphael) One of Australia's most popular and talented dressage horses has not returned home following her preparation and bid for selection to take part in the 2008 Olympic Games. Donna Carrera and Rozzie Ryan travelled to Europe in 2008 for training and competition appearances which saw them very highly considered by the Australian Selectors. Rozzie and Donna were named the Australian Reserve combination and the good health and good fortune of dressage team members, Heath Ryan on Greenoaks Dundee, Hayley Beresford on Relampago De Retiro and Kristy Oatley on Qando Qando meant that Donna did not get to compete. Owner Susie Duddy (right) said, "Donna has been sold to a Swedish rider and my family will miss her vey much. It is a shame that she was unable to get a start in Hong Kong as it would have been great for everyone to have seen her at her peak especially the piaffe that scored 7’s in Aachen. However, she still has much to offer the sport and will have a lovely home." Donna Carrera was imported as a three year old from Germany to Australia.
