DONNA CARRERA - Sold to Sweden
Black Hanoverian Mare - DOB: 22.01.1994 Sire: Donnerhall Dam St. Pr. Rivera (Sire of Dam: Raphael) One of Australia's most popular and talented dressage horses has not returned home following her preparation and bid for selection to take part in the 2008 Olympic Games. Donna Carrera and Rozzie Ryan travelled to Europe in 2008 for training and competition appearances which saw them very highly considered by the Australian Selectors. Rozzie and Donna were named the Australian Reserve combination and the good health and good fortune of dressage team members, Heath Ryan on Greenoaks Dundee, Hayley Beresford on Relampago De Retiro and Kristy Oatley on Qando Qando meant that Donna did not get to compete.  Owner Susie Duddy (right) said, "Donna has been sold to a Swedish rider and my family will miss her vey much. It is a shame that she was unable to get a start in Hong Kong as it would have been great for everyone to have seen her at her peak especially the piaffe that scored 7’s in Aachen. However, she still has much to offer the sport and will have a lovely home." Donna Carrera was imported as a three year old from Germany to Australia. Her major performances have been:

ü 1998 Australian National 5-Year-Old Young Dressage Horse Champion:
Awarded a 9 for ride ability and 9 for trainability by Anky van Grunsven. Scored
a 9 for walk and canter and 8.5 for trot by judges Harry Boldt, Sjef Janssen and
Linda Zang. Scored the highest mark in each category in all rounds and for all
age groups throughout the competition.
ü 1998 Awarded a Bronze Medallion by the NSW Dressage Council for 3 or more
scores over 68% at Novice Level.
ü 1998 Hanoverian of the Year
ü 1999 Runner-Up Australian 6-Year-Old Young Horse Champion. Awarded a 9
for ride ability by Michael Klimke.
ü 2001 Only horse to be selected to participate in all demonstrations and the
Master Class presented by Anky van Grunsven at Equitana, Melbourne.

FEI Dressage World Cup Final in s’Hertogenbosch. Finished 11th with a score
of 69.600%.

Heath Ryan steps out with Donna Carrera at the
top-up for the Beijing Olympics in Hong Kong. Donna Carrera was selected at the travelling reserve for the Australian Dressage Team for the Beijing Olympic Games in Hong Kong and since returning has been based at Academy Bartels in training with Tineke Bartels and Imke Schellekens.
Donna Carrera had one foal by Weltmeyer being DP Wedonna who has followed in her famous mother’s footsteps. DP Wedonna was the 2006 Australian National Elementary Champion and was named the Elementary Hanoverian of the Year that same year. In 2008 DP Wedonna was named the NSW Medium Dressage Horse of the Year and was the Runner-up Australian National Advanced Champion. DP Wedonna will step out at small tour level later this month
