2007 Rolex World Cup Dressage Final, Las Vegas Invitational FEI Grand Prix Photos by Tracy Mayhew, Comments by Anita Scampton As I don’t have the best position (being at ‘F’) and being behind a lens most of the time, Grand Prix rider and Qld A Squad member Anita Scampton has very kindly made a few comments about the rides in the Grand Prix Invitational – thank you so much Anita! 1st - Mette Rosencrantz (USA) BASQUEWILLE - DWB gelding\Bay\1991\Woernitz x Loewenbrau A lovely big type of horse [actually he reminded me somewhat of the Danish warmblood ‘Wunder’ - Trace]. Very nice trot tour and expressive piaffe/passage but tending to lose engagement. Some tension evident in walk and canter resulting in mistakes in the two tempis. 2nd - Michael Barison (USA) NERUDA - KWPN gelding\Bay\1995\Haarlem x Ladalco Expressive moving horse with promise in trot and piaffe/passage but a bit modest in extended work. Canter tending to be 4-beat at times and changes too on the spot. 3rd - Kristina Harrison-Naness (USA) ROCIERO XV - PRE stallion\Grey\1995\ Rociero VIII x Jenson Gorgeous grey Spanish horse. Trot lacks cadence but shows good tempo and reach in extended trots. Lovely piaffe but travelling in transitions. Some super two times changes but mistakes in the one times and first pirouette. Lost enthusiasm towards end of test. 4th - Jennifer Hoffman (USA) PETIT DANSEUR - KWPN gelding\Bay\1995 A cute little horse but tending towards passagey in the trot tour, then losing cadence in half pass. Not always coming from behind. Lovely expressive passage but tending backwards in piaffe resulting in some resistance. 5th - Jo Moran (USA) MINNA - SWB mare\Chestnut\1995\Bernstien x Marco Light elegant horse with a very nice trot tour. Tension evident in piaffe/passage with general lack of cadence and some resistance to the bit at times. Lots of tension in the canter resulted in many mistakes. Click here for the full results.
