The Marbach elite auction, to be held on November 10th - 11th, 2006 has since long established itself as one of the foremost sports performance horse auctions in Germany. This year, the auction impresses with two special gems, for which international interest is already very high: one of them is the 3 year old stallion Grand Cru, who is already a double medallist, having claimed the gold medal in the 2006 Saxonia Championship as well as becoming bronze medallist in the Southern German Championship. The other horse attracting international interest is the Lord Sinclair daughter Lady Sunshine, Vice-Champion mare with already two impressive foals to her name. Her sire is one of the most legendary dressage horses ever, bred by the Niedermair family (www.niedermair-warmbloods.com) and currently standing with Paul Schockemoehle. Both these horses were trained by the German top rider Uwe Schwanz, who will show them at the auction also. Details of these horses, with trainer comments, can be found on the website www.uweschwanz.com. Details about how to apply for phone bidding permission, as well as videos of these and the other auction horses at this year's Marbach collection, can be found directly at the website of the Baden Wuerrtemberg Warmblood Association at: www.pzv-bw.de
Meanwhile, another young horse in the news is the Schwaiganger state stud stallion Quartino, by Que Sera out of a dam by Pilot x Uriel St. Lo. Quartino is currently the great hope of Bavarian breeders, generally voted as the stallion most likely to succeed in a big way. The 3-year old youngster is currently performing very well in his 30-day stallion approval test at Munich-Riem. A horse of exceptional beauty and immense jumping scope, he is a breeder's gem uniting some of the very best jumping bloodlines in his pedigree. His sire, Que Sera, is a highly coveted state stud stallion by Quattro B, making him a half brother to the famous Quartier Latin (now Don Diego la Silla), while his dam is by Pilot, one of the most legendary jumping sires of all times.
The line has also caused headlines at the recent Landshut elite auction, when a son of Quartier Latin, the Holzeder stallion station's (www.holzeder.de) Quadrigus, provided the auction's most expensive foal, a colt that sold for nearly 70 000 Euros.
