The
top ten horses from the first two rounds were determined by adding the scores for these
performances together. The top three horses will be ridden by Isabell Werth - former
Olympic Gold Medallist, and many times the European Dressage Champion. Her riding
mark is added to the previous score and the age group champion was be the horse with the
highest score. |

Cinderella - Imported mare by Carbid out of a Werther mare, born
2nd. February 1996. This strongly build mare seemed reluctant to step out with
Isabell Werth, but the Olympic Champion's tact and expertise soon had the workout flowing
beautifully. There were some 'tell tale signs of tension and I felt that Cinderella
did not flow quite as well as she did for her regular rider - but this is to be expected
with a sensitive mare of such breeding.
Isabell commented that she felt
that the mare was tense, but she got a good feeling in all three paces. Isabell also
noted that this horse was a 'workaholic' and needs to calm down more. She gave
Cinderella 8 for rideability. |

Carbine
- by Carbid (also sire of Cinderella) out of a mare by Wenzel 1, born 28th June 1996.
This is a lovely horse but showed tension - particularly in his mouth - and this
seemed to affect his desire to go forward. Isabell later commented that Carbine wss
very tired - and this was, no doubt, the reason that the horse seemed to lack in todays
performance. Isabell gave him 7 for ridability - I am sure the experience will be
great for the future. |

Neversfelde
Feuer - the Dutch / Trakehner gelding by Flemingh our of a Trakehner mare by Copernicus,
born on 11th. December, 1995. Feuer is such a beautiful horse, with all the charisma
that Trakehners are noted for. Isabell again asked for flying changes and although
one was late behind, this was not the point of her question. Fuere seemed to work
well for Isabell. She said of him that he needs to be a bit more 'through the neck',
but that she had a lovely ride. She would also like to see more suppleness.
There were no real problems and the horse demonstrated a talent for collection.
Feuer was awarded 7.5 for rideability. |
