DWTS has been a great success and full
credit must go to the EFA (Victorian Branch) for keeping the show on the road. The
two previous events have been run by the AEA, headed up by the organisational 'superstar'
Sicca Dijkstra, but her 2000 Olympic commitments put the new millennium show in jeopardy.
The EFA and a team of helpers stepped in and made it possible to keep a continuity
of what has become Australia's most prestigious event. There were 160 entries, and
some horses had to be balloted to keep the numbers workable. Consideration is being
given to the introduction of qualifying events to streamline the event for future years.

Auction of the Stars
This fabulous concept - the innovation of Dirk Dikstra and Heath Ryan, was the
first of what is set to be the annual Australian Elite Performance Auctions. The
sale ran well over time and many did not realise that it would be part of this event, but
this is sure to be a concept that facilitates buys and sellers of the best horses.
