futurecommand.jpg (14301 bytes)Rory's Risk was a touch fractious in the stalls and on jumping out stumbled badly dislodging his rider as Pardayas and Rations raced to the early lead from Finally Fame and Hillview Express with Future Command at the rear outside the riderless Rory's Risk. With 800m to go little changed apart from the riderless Rory's Risk accelerating around the field to hit the front as they started to turn for home. Rory's Risk ran to the outside fence around the home turn and crashed through the outside rail as the others straightened for the run in. Rations went to a narrow lead from Pardayas as Finally Fame was blocked for a run behind them with Hillview Express moving out around the leaders followed by Future Command. Rations hit the front passing the 200m from Hillview Express out wide and Pardayas on the fence as Finally Fame was checked off heels and Future Command continued to run on down the centre of the track. In the final 50m Future Command held the others to win by half a length from Hillview Express with a further half length back to Rations in third. It was then feared he would escape out the carpark gate onto the busy Torrens Road but he ran off into the nearby TAFE Riding Skills Centre and was recaptured.
