The first Friday in September and that means the first day of the Royal Adelaide Show for 2005. The grounds again look magnificent and there was plenty of action during the day with the ponies, rider, showjumping and police classes being decided. Rider Classes (Judge - Miss Rachael Midson QLD) The first class decided was the Girl Rider 10-12 years where Rose McEvoy was chosen as the winner from Tessa Hughes and Demi Morrison. The Girl or Boy Rider 8-10 years was taken out by Lillian McEvoy from Pheobe Schmidt and Samantha Langridge. The Girl or Boy Rider 5-8 years was conducted in a very orderly fashion as the young riders did a fantastic job in an arena with many distractions (showjumping and a very large harness class) with Jasmine Anderson declared the winner from Victoria Gorst and Jessica Dunn third. Dylan Dunn was successful in the Boy Rider 10-14 years from Daniel Hines and Ryan Firth. The final rider class of the day was the Girl Rider 12-14 years where Courtney Remington was awarded first place from Katelin Clark and Laini Seddon. Jumping
The showjumping started early
with the Junior Jumping Contest where Madeline Willoughby was successful
from Brittnee Boulton & Classic Girl and Kira Arnold and Keeping Up
Appearances. The senior riders were next with Anthony Thomas winning
from George Sanna riding Licato with Ben Jolley and BR Steiger third.
The third contest of the day went to Robert Agnew riding DP Envy from
Anthony Thomas and Icon with another of Anthony Thomas' horses Up N Down
third. The final showjumping event of the day also went to Anthony
Thomas riding AEA Amethist.
Hack classes (Judges - Ponies Ms Trina Crawford, Galloways Mrs Fiona Fehlberg) The Pony Hack novice ne 12hh was won by A Giustozzi's Langtree Ice Magic from S Langridge's Lincott Soda Pop with S Gorst's Coniston Sportsman third. Lyndale Stables & A Penalurick's Holly's Spring Show took out the Pony Hack novice 12-12.2hh from C&R Gale's Kolbeach Toystory with Tessa Hughes' Regal Intricacy third. Pony Hack novice 12.2-13hh went to D Plumb's Mirinda Maid of Honour from R Butler & A Smiley's Karlana Standing Ovation with E Richardson's Willowcroft Holly's Emblem third. The Galloway Hack novice 14-14.2hh saw K White's Janevelyn Jazzman successful from Lyndale Stables & A Penalurick's Kolbeach Magic and B Begley's Saravale Tayla-Made third. L McEvoy added to her riding award by taking out the Pony Hack novice 13-13.2hh with Mirinda Touch of Mink while second was J Langley's Langtree Centre Stage and L Selva's Castleglen Royal Destiny third. The Galloway Hack novice 14.2-15hh went to J Lee-Archibald's Party from F Hauschild's Wrenwood Delegate with L Forrest's Willowcroft Garland third. As the evening clouds closed in the Pony Hack novice 13.2-14hh was awarded to J langley's Langtree Royal Heiress from D Dunn's Cheraton Cabaret and G Manning's Chynna Grove Deja Vu. Police Classes (Judge - Mr John Bailey) The traditional Police
Classes were held throughtout the day with Best Turned Out Police Horse and
Rider going to PH Nero & S Cooper from PH Herakles & J Parker with PH
Legionnaire & D Gibson third. Best Police Rider went to R Hoile riding
PH Limelight from T Cooper riding PH Orlando and T Taylor riding PH
Kimberley. Best Police Horse was awarded to PH Foley ridden by R
Symons from PH Nero ridden by S Cooper and PH Orlando ridden by T Cooper.
The final Police class was the Pair of Police Horses where PH Limelight and
PH Herakles took first place from PH Kimberley and PH Orlando with PH Foley
and PH Jade in third place. |
